Why are we here? ABOUT NDIM

Neurodiversity in Media (NDIM) was created as an initiative to celebrate the 15% (minimum) of talent in your media organisation whose brains are wired differently to most.

Those who are neurodivergent have conditions including Autism/ASD, ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Tourette’s Syndrome and more. By the term neurodiverse, we mean the collective of all brain types, and we hope this initiative and indeed the 4S’ will help, neurodivergent or not. What’s good for the hive is good for all the bees!

The 4S manifesto which part inspired NDIM was delivered to senior UK media industry leaders in 2023 as a consideration framework to enable ND talent to thrive and think about Systems, Spaces, Safety & Support..

Our long term (and probably lofty) vision, is that 85% of media associated businesses are aware and embrace the 4S for the 15% (we call this NDIM100)!

Here through our championing conversation, user guide, outreach, soon (hopefully) events and indeed on this site (one day we will get a proper website, but you know, time and money) we hope we can inspire companies in the media industry to engage with their neurodivergent talent, and support the ND community with a platform, with the hope we can all work together to deliver a more positive way of working for all.
